A Tennessee study indicates at least 52 percent of the statewide adult population has at least one ACE, while 21 percent have three or more. ACE scores are shown to correlate with impaired worker performance, including higher absenteeism, poor work habits and financial problems.

This morning a small, three-year-old girl named Anna gets up at 6 am, walks to the kitchen and tries to find something to eat.  Cockroaches scurry as she turns on the light.  Her mother is in a deep sleep after a late night of physical fighting with her boyfriend, drinking and drug use.  Anna stayed awake through it all experiencing a living nightmare.

The Family Center received a grant from The Baptist Healing Trust, which awarded funds totaling over $1.07 Million in its most recent grant cycle. This year’s grants bring the collective grant making of the Baptist Healing Trust to over $69 million since 2002.
