TransParenting®
This
one time four hour seminar conducted by Master’s level
mental health professionals teaches divorcing parents ways
to minimize the negative impact of divorce on children. The
program also promotes self reflection and an increased
understanding of feelings of grief and loss that so often
accompany the divorce process. Techniques for navigating the
legal implications such as mediation, child support, and
visitation arrangements are also addressed.
- Program cost is $40 in Davidson County and $45 in Rutherford County.
- Pre-registration and
pre-payment are required.

Divorcing parents must
attend separate seminars.
Satisfies the Tennessee’s
state mandated co-parenting class requirement.

Meets Weekly in Davidson
County on Thursdays from
6:15-7:45 p.m.

This
eight-week class is designed for parents and caregivers of
children birth-10 years of age. Parents come together to
share experiences and discuss a variety of topics including
child development, understanding and managing children’s
behavior, self-esteem, communication, child safety, stress
management, and parenting styles. Classes are taught by
experienced mental health professionals.

Program cost is $60 per person and $100 per couple. Financial assistance available
for
those who qualify.

Families in
Action
Meets every Wednesday in Rutherford county from 6:00-7:30
p.m.
Meets in six-week
sessions in Davidson county on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00
p.m.
This
six-week class is offered to parents and caretakers of
children ages 10-15. The program provides education and
support to parents of pre-teens and includes discussion on
challenging topics such as peer pressure, sexual activity
and gang involvement. Parents learn how to tailor discipline
techniques to their child’s increasing need for independence
and identity development. Classes are taught by experienced
mental health professionals.

Program costs $50 per person and $80 per couple. Financial assistance
is available for those
who qualify.
