Community resilience training

trainings Options

The Family Center has worked directly with families for over two decades, but families do not live in isolation. They are a part of the larger community and are represented in schools, businesses, libraries, gyms, parks, and so many others. All these different systems play a major role in building up or breaking down families and individuals and can possibly lead to re-traumatization.

Rather than focusing only on the family unit, The Family Center has embraced systems and cultures in our mission. We work with organizations to become more aware of how they support resilience and resist re-traumatization. As these topics and client/employee wellness take center stage, we've developed a menu of trainings to fit almost any organization's needs:

  • Trauma-Informed
  • ACEs
  • Change Management
  • Organizational Wellness
  • Resilience / Soft Skills
  • Mini-Trainings

For questions about the Change Management Trainings, contact us at 615.333.2644 or amatherne@familycentertn.org.

Adverse childhood experiences/ community environments

Early experiences shape how the brain is built. They create either a sturdy or a fragile foundation for all the development and behavior that follows. A strong foundation in the early years increases the chances of good health throughout their lives. This training will explore how toxic stress harms the developing brain and body, compromising the foundation for lifelong health.

trauma-informed

Trauma happens to ALL people. Anyone can experience an event that overwhelms their ability to cope and the effects can stay with them for the rest of their lives. Because of how common trauma is across all demographics and communities, a trauma-informed model of care has been recognized as an evidence-based framework. It focuses on how trauma may affect the outcomes of those connected to our organization and how to reduce any negative impact.
